因為它必將長久的日子，生命的年數與平安，加給你。
for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.
不可使慈愛、誠實離開你，要繫在你頸項上，刻在你心版上。
Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.
這樣，你必在神和世人眼前蒙恩寵，有聰明。
So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.
你要專心仰賴耶和華，不可倚靠自己的聰明，
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
在你一切所行的事上都要認定他，他必指引你的路。
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
不要自以為有智慧；要敬畏耶和華，遠離惡事。
Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
這便醫治你的肚臍，滋潤你的百骨。
It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
你要以財物和一切初熟的土產尊榮耶和華。
Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce;
這樣，你的倉房必充滿有餘；你的酒醡有新酒盈溢。
then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.
我兒，你不可輕看耶和華的管教〔或作「懲治」〕，也不可厭煩他的責備；
My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline or be weary of his reproof,
因為耶和華所愛的，他必責備，正如父親責備所喜愛的兒子。
for the LORD reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.
得智慧，得聰明的，這人便為有福。
Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding,
因為得智慧勝過得銀子，其利益強如精金，
for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold.
比珍珠〔或作「紅寶石」〕寶貴；你一切所喜愛的，都不足與比較。
She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
她右手有長壽，左手有富貴。
Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
她的道是安樂；她的路全是平安。
Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
她與持守她的作生命樹；持定她的，俱各有福。
She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed.
耶和華以智慧立地，以聰明定天，
The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens;
以知識使深淵裂開，使天空滴下甘露。
by his knowledge the deeps broke open, and the clouds drop down the dew.
我兒，要謹守真智慧和謀略，不可使她離開你的眼目。
My son, do not lose sight of these — keep sound wisdom and discretion,
這樣，她必作你的生命，頸項的美飾。
and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck.
你就坦然行路，不致碰腳。
Then you will walk on your way securely, and your foot will not stumble.
你躺下，必不懼怕；你躺臥，睡得香甜。
If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
忽然來的驚恐，不要害怕；惡人遭毀滅，也不要恐懼。
Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the ruin of the wicked, when it comes,
因為耶和華是你所倚靠的；他必保守你的腳不陷入網羅。
for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.
你手若有行善的力量，不可推辭，就當向那應得的人施行。
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.
你那裏若有現成的，不可對鄰舍說：去吧，明天再來，我必給你。
Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again, tomorrow I will give it” — when you have it with you.
你的鄰舍既在你附近安居，你不可設計害他。
Do not plan evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly beside you.
人未曾加害與你，不可無故與他相爭。
Do not contend with a man for no reason, when he has done you no harm.
不可嫉妒強暴的人，也不可選擇他所行的路。
Do not envy a man of violence and do not choose any of his ways,
因為，乖僻人為耶和華所憎惡；正直人為他所親密。
for the devious person is an abomination to the LORD, but the upright are in his confidence.
耶和華咒詛惡人的家庭，賜福與義人的居所。
The LORD's curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous.
他譏誚那好譏誚的人，賜恩給謙卑的人。
Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor.
智慧人必承受尊榮；愚昧人高升也成為羞辱。
The wise will inherit honor, but fools get disgrace.
