歷代志上 第 13 章

1

大衛與千夫長、百夫長，就是一切首領商議。

David consulted with the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, with every leader.

2

大衛對以色列全會眾說：「你們若以為美，見這事是出於耶和華──我們的神，我們就差遣人走遍以色列地，見我們未來的弟兄，又見住在有郊野之城的祭司利未人，使他們都到這裏來聚集。

And David said to all the assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you and from the LORD our God, let us send abroad to our brothers who remain in all the lands of Israel, as well as to the priests and Levites in the cities that have pasturelands, that they may be gathered to us.

我們要把神的約櫃運到我們這裏來；因為在掃羅年間，我們沒有在約櫃前求問神。」

Then let us bring again the ark of our God to us, for we did not seek it in the days of Saul.”

4

全會眾都說可以如此行；這事在眾民眼中都看為好。

All the assembly agreed to do so, for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.

於是，大衛將以色列人從埃及的西曷河直到哈馬口都招聚了來，要從基列‧耶琳將神的約櫃運來。

So David assembled all Israel from the Nile of Egypt to Lebo-hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim.

6

大衛率領以色列眾人上到巴拉，就是屬猶大的基列‧耶琳，要從那裏將約櫃運來。這約櫃就是坐在二基路伯上耶和華神留名的約櫃。

And David and all Israel went up to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath-jearim that belongs to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the LORD who sits enthroned above the cherubim.

他們將神的約櫃從亞比拿達的家裏抬出來，放在新車上。烏撒和亞希約趕車。

And they carried the ark of God on a new cart, from the house of Abinadab, and Uzzah and Ahio were driving the cart.

8

大衛和以色列眾人在神前用琴、瑟、鑼、鼓、號作樂，極力跳舞歌唱。

And David and all Israel were celebrating before God with all their might, with song and lyres and harps and tambourines and cymbals and trumpets.

9

到了基頓的禾場〔「基頓」撒母耳下六章六節作「拿艮」〕；因為牛失前蹄〔或作「驚跳」〕，烏撒就伸手扶住約櫃。

And when they came to the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzzah put out his hand to take hold of the ark, for the oxen stumbled.

耶和華向他發怒，因他伸手扶住約櫃擊殺他，他就死在神面前。

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he put out his hand to the ark, and he died there before God.

11

大衛因耶和華擊殺〔原文作「闖殺」〕烏撒，心裏愁煩，就稱那地方為毗列斯‧烏撒，直到今日。

And David was angry because the LORD had broken out against Uzzah. And that place is called Perez-uzza to this day.

12

那日，大衛懼怕神，說：「神的約櫃怎可運到我這裏來？」

And David was afraid of God that day, and he said, “How can I bring the ark of God home to me?”

13

於是大衛不將約櫃運進大衛的城，卻運到迦特人俄別‧以東的家中。

So David did not take the ark home into the city of David, but took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

14

神的約櫃在俄別‧以東家中三個月，耶和華賜福給俄別‧以東的家和他一切所有的。

And the ark of God remained with the household of Obed-edom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the household of Obed-edom and all that he had.
