耶和華──我們的神在
The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
這約不是與我們列祖立的，乃是與我們今日在這裏存活之人立的。
Not with our fathers did the LORD make this covenant, but with us, who are all of us here alive today.
耶和華在山上，從火中，面對面與你們說話──
The LORD spoke with you face to face at the mountain, out of the midst of the fire,
那時我站在耶和華和你們中間，要將耶和華的話傳給你們；因為你們懼怕那火，沒有上山──說：
while I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to declare to you the word of the LORD. For you were afraid because of the fire, and you did not go up into the mountain. He said:
「『我是耶和華──你的神，曾將你從
“‘I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
「『除了我以外，你不可有別的神。
“‘You shall have no other gods before me.
「『不可為自己雕刻偶像，也不可做甚麼形像，彷彿上天、下地和地底下、水中的百物。
“‘You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
不可跪拜那些像，也不可事奉它，因為我耶和華──你的神是忌邪的神。恨我的，我必追討他的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代；
You shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
愛我、守我誡命的，我必向他們發慈愛，直到千代。
but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
「『不可妄稱耶和華──你神的名；因為妄稱耶和華名的，耶和華必不以他為無罪。
“‘You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
「『當照耶和華──你神所吩咐的守安息日為聖日。
“‘Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you.
六日要勞碌做你一切的工，
Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
但第七日是向耶和華──你神當守的安息日。這一日，你和你的兒女、僕婢、牛、驢、牲畜，並在你城裏寄居的客旅，無論何工都不可做，使你的僕婢可以和你一樣安息。
but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.
你也要記念你在
You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the LORD your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
「『當照耶和華──你神所吩咐的孝敬父母，使你得福，並使你的日子在耶和華──你神所賜你的地上得以長久。
“‘Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
「『不可殺人。
“‘You shall not murder.
「『不可姦淫。
“‘And you shall not commit adultery.
「『不可偷盜。
“‘And you shall not steal.
「『不可作假見證陷害人。
“‘And you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
「『不可貪戀人的妻子；也不可貪圖人的房屋、田地、僕婢、牛、驢，並他一切所有的。』
“‘And you shall not covet your neighbor's wife. And you shall not desire your neighbor's house, his field, or his male servant, or his female servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.’
「這些話是耶和華在山上，從火中、雲中、幽暗中，大聲曉諭你們全會眾的；此外並沒有添別的話。他就把這話寫在兩塊石版上，交給我了。」
“These words the LORD spoke to all your assembly at the mountain out of the midst of the fire, the cloud, and the thick darkness, with a loud voice; and he added no more. And he wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.
「那時，火焰燒山，你們聽見從黑暗中出來的聲音；你們支派中所有的首領和長老都來就近我，
And as soon as you heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, you came near to me, all the heads of your tribes, and your elders.
說：『看哪，耶和華──我們神將他的榮光和他的大能顯給我們看，我們又聽見他的聲音從火中出來。今日我們得見神與人說話，人還存活。
And you said, ‘Behold, the LORD our God has shown us his glory and greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire. This day we have seen God speak with man, and man still live.
現在這大火將要燒滅我們，我們何必冒死呢？若再聽見耶和華──我們神的聲音就必死亡。
Now therefore why should we die? For this great fire will consume us. If we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, we shall die.
凡屬血氣的，曾有何人聽見永生神的聲音從火中出來，像我們聽見還能存活呢？
For who is there of all flesh, that has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of fire as we have, and has still lived?
求你近前去，聽耶和華──我們神所要說的一切話，將他對你說的話都傳給我們，我們就聽從遵行。』
Go near and hear all that the LORD our God will say, and speak to us all that the LORD our God will speak to you, and we will hear and do it.’
「你們對我說的話，耶和華都聽見了。耶和華對我說：『這百姓的話，我聽見了；他們所說的都是。
“And the LORD heard your words, when you spoke to me. And the LORD said to me, ‘I have heard the words of this people, which they have spoken to you. They are right in all that they have spoken.
惟願他們存這樣的心敬畏我，常遵守我的一切誡命，使他們和他們的子孫永遠得福。
Oh that they had such a heart as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, that it might go well with them and with their descendants forever!
你去對他們說：你們回帳棚去吧！
Go and say to them, “Return to your tents.”
至於你，可以站在我這裏，我要將一切誡命、律例、典章傳給你；你要教訓他們，使他們在我賜他們為業的地上遵行。』
But you, stand here by me, and I will tell you the whole commandment and the statutes and the rules that you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land that I am giving them to possess.’
所以，你們要照耶和華──你們神所吩咐的謹守遵行，不可偏離左右。
You shall be careful therefore to do as the LORD your God has commanded you. You shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
耶和華──你們神所吩咐你們行的，你們都要去行，使你們可以存活得福，並使你們的日子在所要承受的地上得以長久。」
You shall walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you shall possess.
