耶利米書 第 19 章

1

耶和華如此說：「你去買窯匠的瓦瓶，又帶百姓中的長老和祭司中的長老，

Thus says the LORD, “Go, buy a potter's earthenware flask, and take some of the elders of the people and some of the elders of the priests,

出去到欣嫩子谷、哈珥西〔「哈珥西」就是「瓦片」的意思〕的門口那裏，宣告我所吩咐你的話，

and go out to the Valley of the Son of Hinnom at the entry of the Potsherd Gate, and proclaim there the words that I tell you.

說：『猶大君王和耶路撒冷的居民哪，當聽耶和華的話。萬軍之耶和華──以色列的神如此說：我必使災禍臨到這地方，凡聽見的人都必耳鳴；

You shall say, ‘Hear the word of the LORD, O kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem. Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I am bringing such disaster upon this place that the ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle.

因為他們和他們列祖，並猶大君王離棄我，將這地方看為平常，在這裏向素不認識的別神燒香，又使這地方滿了無辜人的血，

Because the people have forsaken me and have profaned this place by making offerings in it to other gods whom neither they nor their fathers nor the kings of Judah have known; and because they have filled this place with the blood of innocents,

又建築巴力的邱壇，好在火中焚燒自己的兒子，作為燔祭獻給巴力。這不是我所吩咐的，不是我所提說的，也不是我心所起的意。

and have built the high places of Baal to burn their sons in the fire as burnt offerings to Baal, which I did not command or decree, nor did it come into my mind —

耶和華說：因此，日子將到，這地方不再稱為陀斐特和欣嫩子谷，反倒稱為殺戮谷。

therefore, behold, days are coming, declares the LORD, when this place shall no more be called Topheth, or the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter.

我必在這地方使猶大和耶路撒冷的計謀落空，也必使他們在仇敵面前倒於刀下，並尋索其命的人手下。他們的屍首，我必給空中的飛鳥和地上的野獸作食物。

And in this place I will make void the plans of Judah and Jerusalem, and will cause their people to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of those who seek their life. I will give their dead bodies for food to the birds of the air and to the beasts of the earth.

我必使這城令人驚駭嗤笑；凡經過的人，必因這城所遭的災驚駭嗤笑。

And I will make this city a horror, a thing to be hissed at. Everyone who passes by it will be horrified and will hiss because of all its wounds.

9

我必使他們在圍困窘迫之中，就是仇敵和尋索其命的人窘迫他們的時候，各人吃自己兒女的肉和朋友的肉。』

And I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and their daughters, and everyone shall eat the flesh of his neighbor in the siege and in the distress, with which their enemies and those who seek their life afflict them.’

「你要在同去的人眼前打碎那瓶，

“Then you shall break the flask in the sight of the men who go with you,

對他們說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說：我要照樣打碎這民和這城，正如人打碎窯匠的瓦器，以致不能再囫圇。並且人要在陀斐特葬埋屍首，甚至無處可葬。

and shall say to them, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts: So will I break this people and this city, as one breaks a potter's vessel, so that it can never be mended. Men shall bury in Topheth because there will be no place else to bury.

耶和華說：我必向這地方和其中的居民如此行，使這城與陀斐特一樣。

Thus will I do to this place, declares the LORD, and to its inhabitants, making this city like Topheth.

13

耶路撒冷的房屋和猶大君王的宮殿是已經被玷污的，就是他們在其上向天上的萬象燒香、向別神澆奠祭的宮殿房屋，都必與陀斐特一樣。』」

The houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah — all the houses on whose roofs offerings have been offered to all the host of heaven, and drink offerings have been poured out to other gods — shall be defiled like the place of Topheth.’”

耶利米從陀斐特──就是耶和華差他去說預言的地方──回來，站在耶和華殿的院中，對眾人說：

Then Jeremiah came from Topheth, where the LORD had sent him to prophesy, and he stood in the court of the LORD's house and said to all the people:

15

「萬軍之耶和華──以色列的神如此說：我必使我所說的一切災禍臨到這城和屬城的一切城邑，因為他們硬著頸項不聽我的話。」

“Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, behold, I am bringing upon this city and upon all its towns all the disaster that I have pronounced against it, because they have stiffened their neck, refusing to hear my words.”
