有話說：人若休妻，妻離他而去，作了別人的妻，前夫豈能再收回她來？若收回她來，那地豈不是大大玷污了嗎？但你和許多親愛的行邪淫，還可以歸向我。這是耶和華說的。
“If a man divorces his wife and she goes from him and becomes another man's wife, will he return to her? Would not that land be greatly polluted? You have played the whore with many lovers; and would you return to me? declares the LORD.
你向淨光的高處舉目觀看，你在何處沒有淫行呢？你坐在道旁等候，好像
Lift up your eyes to the bare heights, and see! Where have you not been ravished? By the waysides you have sat awaiting lovers like an Arab in the wilderness. You have polluted the land with your vile whoredom.
因此甘霖停止，春〔原文作「晚」〕雨不降。你還是有娼妓之臉，不顧羞恥。
Therefore the showers have been withheld, and the spring rain has not come; yet you have the forehead of a whore; you refuse to be ashamed.
從今以後，你豈不向我呼叫說：我父啊，你是我幼年的恩主。
Have you not just now called to me, ‘My father, you are the friend of my youth —
耶和華豈永遠懷怒，存留到底嗎？看哪，你又發惡言又行壞事，隨自己的私意而行〔或作「你雖這樣說，還是行惡放縱慾心」〕。」
will he be angry forever, will he be indignant to the end?’ Behold, you have spoken, but you have done all the evil that you could.”
The LORD said to me in the days of King Josiah: “Have you seen what she did, that faithless one, Israel, how she went up on every high hill and under every green tree, and there played the whore?
她行這些事以後，我說她必歸向我，她卻不歸向我。她奸詐的妹妹
And I thought, ‘After she has done all this she will return to me,’ but she did not return, and her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
背道的
She saw that for all the adulteries of that faithless one, Israel, I had sent her away with a decree of divorce. Yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but she too went and played the whore.
因
Because she took her whoredom lightly, she polluted the land, committing adultery with stone and tree.
雖有這一切的事，她奸詐的妹妹
Yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah did not return to me with her whole heart, but in pretense, declares the LORD.”
耶和華對我說：「背道的
And the LORD said to me, “Faithless Israel has shown herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.
你去向北方宣告說：耶和華說：背道的
Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, “‘Return, faithless Israel, declares the LORD. I will not look on you in anger, for I am merciful, declares the LORD; I will not be angry forever.
只要承認你的罪孽，就是你違背耶和華──你的神，在各青翠樹下向別神東奔西跑，沒有聽從我的話。這是耶和華說的。
Only acknowledge your guilt, that you rebelled against the LORD your God and scattered your favors among foreigners under every green tree, and that you have not obeyed my voice, declares the LORD.
耶和華說：背道的兒女啊，回來吧！因為我作你們的丈夫，並且我必將你們從一城取一人，從一族取兩人，帶到
Return, O faithless children, declares the LORD; for I am your master; I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.
我也必將合我心的牧者賜給你們。他們必以知識和智慧牧養你們。」
“‘And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.
耶和華說：「你們在國中生養眾多；當那些日子，人必不再提說耶和華的約櫃，不追想，不記念，不覺缺少，也不再製造。
And when you have multiplied and been fruitful in the land, in those days, declares the LORD, they shall no more say, “The ark of the covenant of the LORD.” It shall not come to mind or be remembered or missed; it shall not be made again.
那時，人必稱
At that time Jerusalem shall be called the throne of the LORD, and all nations shall gather to it, to the presence of the LORD in Jerusalem, and they shall no more stubbornly follow their own evil heart.
當那些日子，
In those days the house of Judah shall join the house of Israel, and together they shall come from the land of the north to the land that I gave your fathers for a heritage.
我說：我怎樣將你安置在兒女之中，賜給你美地，就是萬國中肥美的產業。我又說：你們必稱我為父，也不再轉去不跟從我。
“‘I said, How I would set you among my sons, and give you a pleasant land, a heritage most beautiful of all nations. And I thought you would call me, My Father, and would not turn from following me.
Surely, as a treacherous wife leaves her husband, so have you been treacherous to me, O house of Israel, declares the LORD.’”
在淨光的高處聽見人聲，就是
A voice on the bare heights is heard, the weeping and pleading of Israel's sons because they have perverted their way; they have forgotten the LORD their God.
你們這背道的兒女啊，回來吧！我要醫治你們背道的病。看哪，我們來到你這裏，因你是耶和華──我們的神。
“Return, O faithless sons; I will heal your faithlessness.” “Behold, we come to you, for you are the LORD our God.
仰望從小山或從大山的喧嚷中得幫助，真是枉然的。
Truly the hills are a delusion, the orgies on the mountains. Truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.
從我們幼年以來，那可恥的偶像將我們列祖所勞碌得來的羊群、牛群，和他們的兒女都吞吃了。
“But from our youth the shameful thing has devoured all for which our fathers labored, their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
我們在羞恥中躺臥吧！願慚愧將我們遮蓋；因為從立國〔原文作「幼年」〕以來，我們和我們的列祖常常得罪耶和華──我們的神，沒有聽從耶和華──我們神的話。
Let us lie down in our shame, and let our dishonor cover us. For we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day, and we have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.”
